Q
Hi Mario. Looks like you're Victoria's version of The Sartorialist/Scott Schuman. Great site. I'm planning a trip to see my Sis in Lake Cowichan in June of next year. I'll be spending a week exploring the lake area, Victoria, and Vancouver. Could you help with some ideas on menswear essentials to have on the trip? I'd like to blend in as much as possible. Thanks Gerry

Thank you, I am honoured to be compared to such a legend. Grab a pair of sunglasses, a hat, some tanks,  over-sized boat neck t’s, cuffed shorts, happy socks and native shoes. If you’re gonna be at the lake, pack some sunscreen, swimming trunks, and a good book.

If you could accomplish anything, and money wasn’t an object, what would it be? If I could accomplish anything… I would make it so nobody would have to worry about getting evicted from their homes or studio spaces because of city gentrification. Find more amazing people to love. Then throw a mind-blowing party in the forest for all the special people I like to share wonderful things with. The experience would of course include sound, visuals, waffles, whisky, and maybe a seven layer marzipan cake

If you could see any event in the world, what would it be and why? One event huh? Well if time wasn’t an issue it would be cool to go back in time and either watch Nick Drake play a show after he released Pink Moon or I would check out the meteor that the Mayans said blocked out the sun…

What has been one of your greatest feats or something that you’re proud of accomplishing? One of my greatest feats: Spanish literature class. It was more difficult for me than my commercial pilot license View high resolution

If you could work anywhere in the world, where would it be? If I could work anywhere in the world, I would have to say in Japan. The level of customer service there in retail is like nothing you would ever find in North America, not to mention their borderline insane work ethic. Also, they push boundaries fashion wise; you can wear anything you want and no one would bat an eye. It’s a perfect place to try new ideas out

What is your favourite fashion blog? I’d have to say my favourite fashion blogger would be thatluciegirl. She has a great mix of floral and grunge. Just very exciting and edgy combination of fashion, food, and everyday life in New York
